ToggleHow to flash your Wyze Cam firmware manually
Note: It is recommended to use a 32GB microSD card in format FAT32 when performing a firmware flash.
Flash Firmware for Wyze Cam Pan v2
- Wyze Cam Pan v2 files can be found on the Release Notes page.
- Download a specific version of firmware, For Windows 10: Right-click on the folder and select extract all. For Mac: Drag and drop the folder, put it on the root directory of your microSD card. The file name should be recovery_wcpv2.bin.
- Power off your camera and insert your microSD card.
- Hold the setup button, plug in your USB cable, keep holding the setup button for 3-6 seconds until the light is solid purple, then release the button.
- Note: For “Solid Purple” both the blue and red LEDs will be on at once, making it appear to be a solid purple.
- Wait for 3-4 minutes. The camera will reboot and change light status during this time.
- Once this is done, your camera should be functioning with the original setup. No need to re-setup your camera!

- Wyze Cam v3 files can be found on the Release Notes page.
- Download a specific version of firmware, For Windows 10: Right-click on the folder and select extract all. For Mac: Just drag and drop the folder, put it on the root directory of your microSD card. For both Mac and Windows, rename the file to demo_wcv3.bin.
- Power off your camera and insert your microSD card.
- Hold the setup button, plug in your USB cable, keep holding the setup button for 3-6 seconds until the light is solid purple, then release the button.
- Note: For “Solid Purple” both the blue and red LEDs will be on at once, making it appear to be a solid purple.

- Download a specific version of firmware, For Windows 10: Right-click on the folder and select extract all. For Mac: Just drag and drop the folder, put it on the root directory of your microSD card. For both Mac and Windows, rename the file to demo.bin.
- Power off your camera and insert your microSD card.
- Hold the setup button, plug in your USB cable, keep holding the setup button for 3-6 seconds until the light is solid blue, then release the button.
- Note: The “Solid Blue” in this case is not the same as the one normally seen on the camera. Instead, both the blue and yellow LEDs will be on at once, making it appear to be a lighter blue.
- Wait for 3-4 minutes. The camera will reboot and change light status during this time.
- Once this is done, your camera should be functioning with the original setup. No need to re-setup your camera!
Flash Firmware for Wyze Cam v1
- Wyze Cam v1 firmware files can be found on the Release Notes page.
- Download the specific version of firmware from the Release Notes, For Windows 10 right-click in the folder and select extract all. For Mac: just drag and drop folder, and put it on the root directory of your microSD card and rename it to FIRMWARE_660R_F.BIN.
- Power off your camera and insert your MicroSD card.
- Hold the setup button, plug in your USB cable, and keep holding the setup button for 12-15 seconds, then release the button.
- Wait for 3-4 minutes. The camera will reboot and change light status during this time.
- After it is done, the camera light should be flashing yellow (ready to set up).
- Re-setup your device as a new device.
Updating your Wyze Cam Outdoor Firmware
For the best Wyze Cam Outdoor experience, we recommend you keep your firmware up-to-date.
To update your Wyze Cam Outdoor:
- In the Wyze app, tap Home, then your Wyze Cam Outdoor.
- Tap the Settings icon on the top right.
- Tap Device Info > Firmware Version > Update.
To update your Base Station:
In the Wyze app, tap Home, then your Wyze Base Station.
Tap the Settings icon on the top right, then Device Info > Firmware Version.
Additional Notes:
- If the Base Station is rebooted during the Wyze Cam Outdoor firmware update, the update will fail. Make sure that the Base Station is powered on and connected while updating.
- Update multiple Wyze devices at once in the Wyze app by going to Account > Firmware Updateand tap Update All.
Updating your Wyze device firmware version
When your Wyze device has a firmware update, you’ll be prompted to update in the Wyze app. But you can also check and update your firmware manually.
To check your firmware version, and update:
- In the Wyze app, tap on your device.
- Tap on the Settings gear, then Device Info > Firmware Version.
You can also check your firmware version from the Home tab by tapping Account > Firmware Update.
My camera not connecting after a firmware update.
Problem:
After completing a firmware update the camera is no longer responsive.
Troubleshooting
- Try power cycling the camera by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
- If you have an extra power cable and/or adapter, switch those out to see if that alleviates the issue.
- Try plugging the camera into a different power outlet.
- Attempt a factory reset, and try to set up as a new device
- Cam v3: Remove the SD card if there is one inserted. Hold down the setup button until the status light turns solid red. Once the status light begins flashing red, you may attempt to set up again.

Updating your Wyze Video Doorbell Pro Firmware
To update your Wyze Video Doorbell Pro:
- In the Wyze app, tap Home, then your Wyze Video Doorbell Pro.
- Tap the Settings icon on the top right.
- Tap Device Info > Firmware Version > Update.
- Don’t see Update? You’re already up to date!
